The Problem
Generic, impersonal healthcare advice and disconnected health records made it difficult for patients to receive personalized care.
Patients struggled with:
Lack of proactive health management due to impersonal, one-size-fits-all recommendations.
No easy access to their personal health records, making it harder to track care gaps.
Fragmented communication with providers, leading to missed or irrelevant care plans.
Who It Affected
Patients were directly affected, particularly those with chronic conditions. Without tailored insights, they missed necessary treatments or follow-ups, affecting their long-term health outcomes.
Why It Mattered
Providing personalized healthcare guidance meant patients could proactively manage their conditions, identify care gaps, and follow accurate treatment plans—leading to better health outcomes and fewer missed appointments.
The Solution
To tackle the lack of personalization, I designed Youologist, an AI-powered chatbot that acts as a virtual healthcare companion.
It offers personalized healthcare guidance by analyzing patient data and providing tailored recommendations.

Research & Insights
Since I didn’t have direct access to patients, I gathered insights from:
Stakeholder feedback: Collected pain points and healthcare challenges from internal teams.
Secondary research: Explored AI’s role in healthcare to understand how it could improve patient care.
Identified common patient frustrations with impersonal healthcare and lack of easy access to personal records.
Ideation & User Flow
To visualize the solution, I mapped out a user flow covering the entire journey:
Onboarding: User links their health records with personal information.
Main Screen: Displays care plan overview with upcoming visits, conditions, and treatments.
Conversational Interface: Patients chat with Youologist to receive personalized advice.
Medical Report Access: One-click access to their health summary.
During ideation, I initially designed a traditional care plan UI, but stakeholders requested a more engaging, conversational approach.
I introduced Youologist, the mascot, to create a friendly, personalized experience.
Added chat-based navigation for intuitive interactions.
Wireframing & Prototyping
I directly started with high-fidelity designs to streamline the process, using a ChatGPT-style interface to create a familiar experience.
Crafted a minimalist, intuitive chat UI for effortless interactions.
Developed an interactive prototype to simulate real-life app usage.
The prototype helped gather stakeholder feedback and fine-tune the design.
Usability Testing & Iterations
Unlike the previous project, major iterations were made during the initial user flow phase based on stakeholder feedback.
Key Iteration: Shifted from a static care plan overview to a conversational chatbot experience with real-time insights.
Added a one-tap Medical Report button for quicker access to personal health data.
